Our boys’ and girls’ cross country teams kicked off their season today, battling some serious heat and giving it everything they had! The boys brought home a 2nd-place team finish — our first cross country trophy in several years! We also had two Top 10 finishers: Keeton Kelley – 3rd Place and Carson Davis – 6th Place. Other top runners for the boys included Ethan Clay, Sawyer Amos, and Jordan Harvey, who helped lead the Knights to an outstanding team finish! Justin Carroll, Tucker Frederick, Zach Halley, Evan Hendricks, Chandler Parham, Wyatt Pence, Bryan Teal, and Aldyn Walker also gave strong efforts on the course, with each runner contributing to a great day for the Knights! Our girls competed in the hottest race of the day and showed tremendous determination from start to finish. Rose Helms, Abby Seeley, Hadlie Marsh, Hannah Hasley, Kami Mullis, and Lillian Burkett pushed through incredibly tough conditions and ran the best race possible in the heat. We could not be prouder of every single runner who competed today. They showed toughness, heart, and determination, and all of their hard work is already paying off. It has been a few years since either of our cross country teams has brought home a trophy, which makes today’s 2nd-place finish even sweeter! Way to start the season, Knights! We are SO proud of you!
